About the Artist

Tucker Woods is originally from the Northeastern United States. She holds a B.F.A. in Painting with additional art studies at The University of Urbino, Italy , The University for Foreigners in Perugia, Italy, and Parsons New School in NYC. She lived and worked as an artist in Colorado, Ohio and New York prior to moving to New Mexico.

The light and the expansiveness of the Southwest attract her as do the stark and dramatically colorful vistas which are often reflected abstractly in her paintings. Her work is consistently based upon a Minimalist aesthetic with layer upon layer of translucent glazes and textures. Tucker's art offers the viewer a sophisticated palette. A quiet balance and feeling of tranquility are perfectly achieved through color, composition and texture.

Tucker's work can be found in private and corporate collections across the U.S.
